Santa Quitéira - Brazil - Natural - Espresso
Smooth, rich, cacao profile. Simone is CEO of the International Coffee Women Alliance.
After many attempts at securing the right coffee from Brazil it all became much easier when we met Lucas from Farmly, a socially aware importer who specializes in coffees from Brazil. We cupped a bunch of lots together and each and everyone had a uniquely sensitive story which Lucas shared very passionately. When we stumbled upon Simone’s natural Yellow Catuai 62 we knew we were onto something good. This coffee highlights the traditional taste profile of Brazilian coffees with the added benefit of subtle floral notes and a mellow acidity. Fazenda Santa Quitéira is a reference in the region for its fertile and excellent microclimate.
In this male-dominated industry, Simone is one of the few female producers who is actively involved in redesigning the role of women and creating opportunities for them across the industry. Beyond the realm of her fazenda, she is an advisor of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) and is the president of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Serra da Mantiqueira Coffee (AMECAFÉ).
